Eight days ago I plunged into the world of Twitter.  I didn't know a thing about it, but I trusted the advice of multiple friends and colleagues that this phenomenon was worth checking out.

So far so good...

This is great. Do you recommend a specific tool to organize your twitter contacts? I've been using Tweetdeck, but I wonder if there's something better... judy (@jdistraction)

I use twitter and have for a while (@dexaholic), it seems even before Ashton Kutcher showed up! (Yes, I follow him and Demi, and you too!). I send tweets from my blackberry (via twitterberry, a free app) and from my igoogle page (via twittergadget). I have my twitter page linked with facebook to update my status with my tweets (saves a lot of time as I don't get sidetracked by the live newsfeed on facebook - just search twitter on facebook, and I still get to keep friends in the loop on my day). Now whether I twitter anything anyone sees value in reading is another story :) I'd love to see more tips and tricks on time management and organization. Thanks!

I use OutTwit to direct all New Followers automatically to one folder in Outlook called, (appropriately) "New Followers". Then I process--opening, reading the links of the followers, getting to know something about them, sending a thank you. Then, I file them in other Outlook Folders I created, such as "Followers-Technorati"; "Followers-Professional Organizers"; Followers-Clients", etc. I'm basically organizing the relationships that are forming into categories that make sense to me. This way, I can see at a glance the mix of followers I have, and xome up with hints, tips and tweets appropriate to these relationships--and send direct messages to individuals or groups of individuals. For More TWITTER TIPS: Paul Cheney sent me a WONDERFUL ebook guide to Using Twitter this afternoon. The information is divided into well organized sections--and the writing is concise and accessible--written in perfect sound-bite sized paragraphs equal to the attention span of a Twitter-er! Check it out--much to learn from him. http://sn.im/twitterebook

Great tips, Julie. I'm glad to see you on Twitter. I mainly use Tweetdeck to organize groups of people, but sometimes will use www.ping.fm if I want to send a message to multiple social networking sites. Thanks for following me. Cheers - Scott Roewer aka @declutteryou

Twitter is really a good networking tool to expand business contacts and meet people you wouldn't necessarily have access to and then develop those relationships offline. Even I was exploring twitter more to find the same also in order to save some of my social networking time. For my business needs I always prefer to get some time tracking tool so as to manage projects more effeciently and also to save some time. http://www.replicon.com/time-tracking-software.aspx
